Queridos Readers:
Next March (2023), the department of humanities at UAEMEX will be hosting the first international conference on Mexican philosophy. The theme of the conference is to re think or reevaluate where we are, or how far we’ve come (or haven’t come), since Ramos published his Historia de la filosofía en México 80 years ago, and you can take a peak at call for papers below.
As we now have a complete draft of our translation of Samuel Ramos’s Hacia un nuevo humanismo/Toward a New Humanism, I am particularly excited about this conference. But this is a major milestone for Mexican philosophy nonetheless, both because it’s the first international conference on Mexican philosophy in Mexico and because it is branching out of Mexico City.
We encourage you to take a look at the flyer and submit a proposal.
